We're looking for an experienced Client Migration Consultant to join us on a contract basis in Lisburn. This is a hands-on, client-facing role at the heart of a significant modernisation programme – helping us move a long-established legacy system onto AWS. If you've done this before, you know the challenges. Legacy codebases with limited documentation, stakeholders who've worked the same way for years, and the pressure of keeping things running while you rebuild underneath. That's exactly the kind of challenge we need someone to lead through.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the migration of clients from a legacy platform to a modern AWS-based architecture
  • Assessing existing systems, data structures, and workflows to build a clear migration roadmap
  • Working directly with clients to understand their needs, manage expectations, and guide them through the transition
  • Collaborating with internal engineering and product teams to ensure migrations are executed smoothly and safely
  • Identifying risks early and putting mitigation strategies in place
  • Documenting processes, decisions, and outcomes throughout the engagement

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience delivering cloud migration projects – ideally from legacy on-premise or ageing systems to AWS
  • Solid understanding of AWS services relevant to migration workloads – EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, DMS, and related tooling
  • Strong client-facing skills – you're comfortable leading workshops, presenting to stakeholders, and managing difficult conversations
  • Ability to assess and work with legacy systems – whatever they're built on, you know how to unpick them
  • A structured, methodical approach to planning and executing complex migrations
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

Nice to have:

  • AWS certification (Solutions Architect or equivalent)
  • Experience with database migration tools and strategies
  • Familiarity with change management in regulated or risk-averse environments
  • Prior experience in a consulting or professional services capacity
