Ocho are working with an innovative Mobile Network Operator specialising in cutting-edge IoT solutions.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Networks to lead the design, build, and operation of our Mobile Core Network. You’ll oversee infrastructure, ensure optimal performance, and mentor a small team of telecom and infrastructure engineers.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of Mobile Core (HLR/HSS, STP/DRA, PGW, IMS) and network infrastructure (Routing, Switching, Data Centers, Servers).
• Manage and develop a high-performing team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Troubleshoot network issues, working closely with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Oversee network projects, expansions, and integrations to enhance IoT services.
• Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory adherence in mobile network operations.
• Support operations on an on-call basis.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven leadership in mission-critical network environments, ideally in mobile/telecom.
• Deep knowledge of telecom protocols (SS7, GTP, Diameter, SIP, VoLTE, etc.).
• Expertise in mobile network elements (HLR/HSS, PGW/GGSN, STP/DRA, IMS, SMSC).
• Strong Core network skills (IPv4, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and experience with vendors like Cisco, Nexus, Fortinet.
• Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu, HAProxy) and Microsoft (IIS, MS-SQL) administration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Scripting (PowerShell/Bash) or coding (C#/.NET) knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
