A growing, PE-backed manufacturing and production business operating across the UK and Ireland, recognised for strong performance and growth within its sector. The business is entering a new phase following recent private equity investment.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will manage a small Finance Team and be responsible for ensuring high quality financial reporting, maintaining effective financial control, and streamlining financial processes. The successful individual will assist the Finance Director in driving strategic decision making, optimising financial performance, and ensuring control across the business. Given the growth plans of the business, the role provides an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to obtain broad experience, rapid professional growth, and potential career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the transactional functions for the business and its associated companies
- Ensure efficient working capital and cash management
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in line with month-end process and reporting deadlines
- Maintain an effective credit control function
- Optimise the efficiency and functionality of a newly implemented accounting system
- Support the development of reporting and insights from finance and BI systems
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax-related returns and payments
- Prepare audit files for external auditors and liaise with auditors for the annual audit
- Maintain a framework and culture of financial control
What You'll Need
Essential:
- Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong IT and Excel skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
Desirable:
- Experience of major accounting and BI systems
- Experience of manufacturing businesses and product costing
- Experience of major systems implementation projects
