We're looking for an experienced PMO Financial Analyst to take ownership of financial management across a large Change Portfolio. This is a hands-on role sitting at the heart of portfolio governance, working closely with Project Managers, Finance, and senior stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy, discipline, and control across a complex, fast-moving environment.
What you'll be doing
- Financial ownership is the core of this role. You'll manage the full financial lifecycle of the Change Portfolio - budgets, forecasts, actuals, accruals, variances, and financial controls - and act as the single point of accountability for PMO financial governance.
- Own the Deal Approval Request process end-to-end, support all major financial events across the year, and produce clear portfolio-level reporting with meaningful commentary on risks, issues, and trends.
- Actively challenge project managers on their forecasts and assumptions where needed.
- Support the review and approval of key project and programme artefacts, carry out quality audits of project documentation, and proactively identify and escalate any control or compliance concerns.
- Play a role in the ongoing improvement of PMO financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Work closely with delivery teams to build a solid understanding of the projects you support - enabling sharper analysis and better assurance across the portfolio.
What we're looking for
- Solid experience in a portfolio or PMO environment, managing competing priorities under deadline pressure.
- Strong financial management skills across budgeting, forecasting, actuals, variance analysis, and governance in a project or portfolio context.
- Advanced Excel; confident analysing, reconciling, and presenting financial data.
- Proficiency across standard tools including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence.
- Clear, confident communicator - written and verbal - comfortable engaging with project managers, finance teams, and senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting project or programme governance, including assurance reviews and quality checks.
- Desirable: experience in banking or financial services; familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
