The Role

This is a senior architecture position within a high-performing engineering function responsible for complex distributed systems and modern cloud platforms. You will help shape technical direction across multiple engineering teams, influence architecture standards, and drive scalable, reliable software delivery across a broad technical estate. The role combines strategic architectural leadership with hands-on technical involvement and close collaboration with engineers, product teams, and senior stakeholders. This role would suit someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, mentoring teams, and influencing long-term platform strategy within a large-scale environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define architecture standards, patterns, and technical direction across distributed systems.
  • Lead design and architecture decisions from concept through to production delivery.
  • Drive scalability, resilience, reliability, and engineering quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and architecture teams on platform-wide projects.
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices in software design and delivery.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to long-term technical strategy.
  • Support architecture governance, roadmap planning, and technical decision-making.
  • Identify platform improvements and advocate for pragmatic engineering solutions.

What You'll Need
