12-month contract, Belfast, working 2 days a week £350 per day.
Own the full testing lifecycle for applications under test, from planning through to defect resolution. Genuinely flexible working pattern, ideal alongside other commitments. Real input into testing standards and process improvement, not just ticket execution.
About the Company:
A Belfast-based organisation is strengthening its testing function on a flexible, part-time basis. The business places real weight on getting software right before it reaches end users, and is investing in a Test Analyst to bring rigour and consistency to how applications are tested and signed off.
The Role:
This is a hands-on Test Analyst contract covering the full testing lifecycle for applications under test (AUT). You'll work methodically to confirm software meets organisational standards and end-user requirements, catching defects before they reach production and documenting issues clearly through to resolution. It suits someone who takes pride in thorough testing and structured reporting, and who's just as comfortable spotting a process gap as a software defect. Set at two days a week across a 12-month contract, it's a well-defined role for an experienced Test Analyst looking for flexibility without losing ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out testing procedures to ensure applications under test (AUT) meet organisational standards and end-user requirements.
- Test software thoroughly to confirm proper operation and freedom from defects.
- Document all identified problems and track them through to resolution.
- Report progress on testing and problem resolution to relevant stakeholders.
- Devise improvements to current testing procedures.
- Develop models of possible future testing configurations.
- Perform workflow analysis to identify quality improvements.
- Recommend quality improvements based on analysis findings.
What You'll Need:
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Test Analyst or in a similar software testing role.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and the testing lifecycle.
- Experience documenting defects and tracking them through to resolution.
- Confident communicator, able to report testing progress clearly to stakeholders.
- Able to work from Belfast two days a week.
Desirable / Nice to Have:
- Experience with workflow or process analysis.
- Exposure to test management or defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
Why Apply?
- £350 per day, fixed for a 12-month contract.
- Two days a week, a genuinely flexible working pattern.
- Belfast-based, straightforward for local candidates.
- Real ownership over testing standards and process improvement.
- Clearly defined contract length, giving certainty over the full 12 months.
