This role is a 15 Month Maternity Cover. We do not accept candidates that need a certificate of sponsorship in the future.

We are seeking an organised, proactive and confidential HR Administrative Assistant to join our school on a fixed-term basis for 15 months to provide maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, and an interest in HR to play a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle within a busy school environment. The successful candidate will provide high-quality HR administration support across recruitment, onboarding, employee records, contract changes, HR systems, leavers processes and reporting.

Working closely with managers and colleagues, you will help ensure that HR processes are accurate, timely and compliant, while providing a professional and welcoming service to staff and applicants.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to contract changes and leavers processes
  • Posting job adverts and supporting recruitment administration
  • Coordinating interviews with hiring managers, candidates and relevant stakeholders
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring documentation is up to date
  • Managing and maintaining the HR Information System (Healthbox), ensuring data is accurate and confidential
  • Preparing variation to contract letters and associated HR documentation
  • Supporting exit interview administration and capturing relevant feedback
  • Producing quarterly HR reports
  • Responding to general HR administration queries in a professional and confidential manner
  • Ensuring HR processes are completed in line with school policies and relevant employment requirements

About you:

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-focused and confident handling confidential information. You will have strong communication skills, excellent IT skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school setting. Previous HR administration experience would be desirable, particularly experience with recruitment administration, HR systems and employee records. Experience in an education, school or regulated environment would be advantageous but is not essential. Training on systems and procedures will be provided upon commencement.
