Essex Face-to-Face Tuition
Help young people rebuild confidence in education. We are looking for compassionate and reliable tutors to provide 1:1 tuition for children and young people with SEMH and SEND needs across Essex. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students who may struggle in traditional educational settings.
What you will get as a tutor:
- £20 - £25 per hour
- Flexible part-time hours
- Up to 30 hours per week depending on availability and student needs
- Working term-time and within school hours only

What you will be doing as a tutor:
- Delivering engaging 1:1 tuition sessions
- Supporting core subjects (English/Literacy, Maths/Numeracy and Science) and confidence-building
- Creating a positive and safe learning environment
- Working closely with our highly experienced coordinators and Head of Service to support student progress
- Providing mentoring and emotional support where appropriate
What we look for in a tutor:
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or SEND needs is preferred
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to student needs
- Willingness to travel across Essex for face-to-face sessions
- Teaching, tutoring, youth work, TA, mentoring, or alternative provision experience would all be beneficial.

We provide safeguarding training and ongoing support to help you feel confident working within an alternative provision environment.
