Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and was created as a 50:50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and Engie. Ocean Winds is currently operating one of the UK’s largest offshore wind farms, Moray East (950MW), Moray West (882MW) and its UK portfolio also includes Caledonia (2GW), Arven (a 1.8GW floating offshore wind development) and Celtic Sea (1.5 GW floating).

Main Accountabilities

  • Oversee the modelling workstream across multiple project financings and investment transactions.
  • Provide guidance and quality control on financial modelling deliverables prepared by analysts and external advisors.
  • Coordinate the structuring and raising of financing for new projects, including preparation of financial materials, lender presentations and investment documentation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new financing sources for new projects, including project finance, Equity Bridge Loan and public funding entities.
  • Coordinate internal and external workstreams across finance, legal, technical, tax, and commercial teams to ensure successful execution of financing transactions.
  • Assist in the negotiation and review of financing documentation, term sheets, and related agreements.
  • Analyse financing alternatives and market conditions to optimize capital structure and funding strategy for projects and assets.
  • Lead and support refinancing processes for existing assets, including financial structuring, negotiation with lenders, due diligence coordination, and execution follow‑up.
  • Support sell‑down processes on Corporate and Project Finance matters, coordinating with investors, lenders, advisors, and internal teams in relation to financing structures, due diligence, and transaction execution.

Required Academic and Professional Experience

  • A degree in finance, economics, mathematics or engineering is required.
  • Professional experience of Project Finance in the context of energy/infrastructure is mandatory.
  • Professional Experience +5yrs.

Required Knowledge/Skills

  • Demonstrable knowledge/skills in the following areas is required:
    • Advanced Excel based modelling skills.
    • Demonstrable business, economic and financial knowledge.
    • Knowledge of energy or other infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge/skills in the following areas is desirable:
    • Corporate and energy project finance structuring.
    • Renewable energy technologies and project economics.
    • UK tax and accounting practices.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the project team and to engage (where required) with external stakeholders.
  • Attentive to detail with strong logical structuring, written communication, organisational and time management skills.

Languages

The project has an international team of employees and the working language is English. Candidates need to be fluent in English both spoken and written. Proficiency in other languages will be valued.
