Role Description
The Engineering Team is responsible for carrying out the testing, service, repair and calibration of equipment to manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances following in house test procedures. The Subsea Calibration Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate calibration services within Oceanscan’s in-house subsea calibration facility. The role ensures that Oceanscan and third-party client equipment is calibrated, tested, prepared, and, where required, repaired in strict accordance with company, manufacturer, and client requirements, supporting safe and successful offshore operations.
Working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team, the Subsea Calibration Engineer is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism while fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability. The role is accountable for ensuring all subsea calibration activities are completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest QA standards, with strict adherence to Oceanscan procedures and relevant technical specifications.
The Subsea Calibration Engineer also contributes to the development of other staff, supporting skills growth across all Oceanscan locations through knowledge sharing, task coordination, and effective workload prioritisation to meet operational demands. In addition, the role requires professional engagement with clients, both in person and over the phone, providing clear communication, technical guidance, and high-quality customer support. At all times, the Subsea Calibration Engineer will represent Oceanscan positively, building and maintaining strong, confident client relationships.
To apply for this post you must have HNC or equivalent in a relevant area; Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Systems or similar. Candidates must have experience of faultfinding, testing/interfacing of electronic equipment as well as experience of PCB investigation, soldering, crimping and mechanical assembly. With exceptional attention to detail and an ability to work unsupervised, you must demonstrate your experience of working to a high standard. Indeed, with the occasional need to provide technical support to our customers, we also require you to have good communication skills and solid experience of Microsoft Office Suite.
