The Work
Some Linux jobs keep internal tools running. This one keeps financial markets running. You’ll join the infrastructure team behind a modern electronic trading platform used by financial institutions and market operators across Europe. The systems you’ll support process huge volumes of real-time activity. Reliability matters. Precision matters. And the engineers around you take that seriously. You won’t be stuck maintaining legacy servers no one understands. You’ll work in a structured Linux environment built around automation, reproducibility, and clean operational discipline. And you’ll spend your time solving real infrastructure problems, not closing tickets.
You’ll get exposure to:
- Enterprise-grade Linux engineering in a production trading environment
- Automation and configuration management used to build reproducible platforms
- Performance-sensitive infrastructure where latency and reliability matter
- Collaboration with experienced engineers who have spent years operating financial systems
There’s also real variety in the work. You’ll help deploy and support trading technology used by clients, troubleshoot complex production environments, and build internal test systems that replicate live deployments. Occasionally you’ll travel to client sites across Europe to support installations or technical workshops. Most of the time you’ll be working with a tight group of engineers who know the systems inside out.
What you’ll be doing
Your work will focus on Linux infrastructure that supports real-time trading technology. You’ll be:
- Deploying and maintaining RHEL-based platforms used in production environments
- Troubleshooting client environments by analysing logs, system behaviour and configuration
- Building internal test environments to replicate production deployments
- Automating provisioning and operational workflows across Linux systems
- Working with development teams to diagnose and resolve platform issues
- Contributing to documentation and improving operational processes
What you’ll need
You’ve likely spent years working in Linux environments where stability and reliability matter. The key things are:
- Strong Linux administration experience in RHEL-based environments
- Solid Bash scripting for automation and operational tooling
- Experience managing production Linux infrastructure
And it will help if you’ve worked with:
- Configuration management tools such as Ansible or similar
- Git-based workflows and CI/CD environments
- Automated provisioning tools such as PXE, Kickstart or Satellite
Exposure to financial systems, trading platforms, or low-latency environments is useful but not essential. If you enjoy understanding how complex systems behave under pressure, you’ll likely feel at home here.
