OceanLED is growing, and we're looking for a technically minded individual ready to take on a hybrid role that combines commercial responsibilities, customer-facing opportunities, and technical tasks. If you enjoy finding solutions but also want to work directly with clients, present ideas, and help manage projects from concept to delivery, this could be your next step. This role suits Technicians or Engineers with a basic mechanical and/or electrical mindset, looking to broaden their skillset into a more commercial remit. Full training on our systems and CAD tools will be provided.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing lighting design proposals for custom projects: CAD layouts, 3D assemblies, light placement charts.
- Producing technical documentation: reports, test procedures, and specifications.
- Providing technical support, system diagnosis, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
- Visiting client sites for system commissioning and customer support (occasional travel abroad required, a few times a year).
- Working with the quality team: goods-in inspection; approving/rejecting parts, discussing any quality issues with suppliers and agreeing on corrective actions.
What you'll bring:
- Basic technical knowledge with an elementary understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- 3D CAD design proficiency (full training provided if you're still building this up).
- Confident MS Office user, comfortable presenting ideas to customers.
- Strong coordination and teamwork skills.
- Excellent customer-facing manner and ability to gather and report feedback.
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport.
