Start Date: Autumn 2026

We are an established fund manager in the fields of Shipping and Energy, seeking an exceptional professional or graduate with strong quantitative ability and a genuine interest in artificial intelligence and financial modelling to join our team as a Graduate Financial Analyst & AI Modelling Associate. The role will involve working closely with the fund portfolio managers to facilitate portfolio construction, while also requiring the candidate to work independently.

This role is ideal for a highly numerate candidate — preferably with a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, and either a master’s degree in finance or one or two years’ experience in the financial market — who is excited by the application of AI tools to financial analysis, forecasting, and company modelling.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with senior professionals on a range of analytical and modelling assignments involving:

  • Financial analysis and valuation in the fields of Shipping and Energy
  • Company and sector research
  • Forecasting and scenario modelling
  • Building and improving financial models
  • Using AI tools to enhance research efficiency and analytical workflows
  • Data interpretation and quantitative analysis
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and investment materials
  • Supporting strategic and commercial decision-making

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

The candidate will have a Master’s degree in a finance related subject or lacking a Master’s degree have one or two years of experience as a financial analyst. A Bachelor’s degree (or expected degree) in Mathematics or another highly quantitative subject is required.

Understanding of financial statements and basic valuation concepts, along with knowledge of Excel and financial modelling, is essential.

Nice To Have

Experience using AI tools such as large language models, data analysis platforms, or automation tools. Familiarity with Python, VBA, SQL, or data analytics tools would be advantageous.
