We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people living in our residential home. You will play a vital role in helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the emotional, social, and educational development of children and young people.
- Supervise and support team members.
- Lead and direct teams on shift.
- Support Registered Manager and take overall control of the home in their absence.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children, following safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment.
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and daily records.
- Build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help young people develop life skills and independence.
- Participate in shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep‑ins.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people in a care or support setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with young people.
- Resilience, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and sleep‑in shifts.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience supporting children with complex needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and learning disabilities.
