Care Assistant required to support a young girl with Muscular Atrophy and complex needs at her home in Brixham. Night shifts available.

Ocean Healthcare is looking for a Care Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a young girl with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a genetic disease that causes muscle weakness. The role involves helping with her feeding and medication through a PEG tube, as well as supporting her with Deep Suction, Cough Assist and a Nebuliser. She is non-verbal but bright, clever, and has a great sense of humor. She loves music, books and using an iPad and attends school with support.

Shift times: 22:00-08:00, 16:00-20:00.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1:1 support in the home environment
  • Support with PEG feeding, Deep Suction, Cough Assist and a Nebuliser
  • Providing personal care
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience with PEG feeding, Deep Suction, Cough Assist and a Nebuliser would be helpful, but training will be provided
  • Car driver preferred but not essential

  • Good references (covering at least 3 years)
  • Reliability and good communication
  • Right to work in the UK (we do not offer work visas)
