The Multi-Disciplined NDT Technician plays a vital role in our organization's operational success. Responsibilities
- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) using techniques such as magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and radiographic testing.
- Inspect and evaluate the physical properties of materials and equipment without causing damage.
- Identify and report any potential issues, including corrosion, cracks, or other imperfections, that may impact performance or integrity.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to develop and implement testing plans and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of testing results, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and accuracy.
- Stay updated with the latest NDT technologies and advancements, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Considerable experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) is required, with a strong understanding of various NDT techniques.
- Relevant certification in NDT, such as PCNs in: RT – Level 2 – Radiography Testing and Interpretation (ESSENTIAL), MT – Level 2 – Magnetic Particle Testing, PT – Level 2 – Dye/ Liquid Penetrant Testing.
- A strong foundation in physics and materials science is preferred, with the ability to interpret test results and make informed decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for this role.
- Proficiency in using NDT equipment and software is necessary, along with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel and work in various locations as required by project needs.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain security clearance may be required.
