We are looking for a skilled and proactive Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, with the ability to work independently and within a team. They will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving plant equipment, ensuring high standards of reliability, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily maintenance support to production equipment and processes.
- Maintain and enhance plant and equipment for optimal performance and safety.
- Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance to maximize equipment efficiency.
- Ensure effective use of maintenance tools and systems, including work orders and spare part management.
- Mentor apprentices and colleagues, offering guidance and support.
- Manage contractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Progress equipment spares inventory transition to the PeopleSoft Maintenance Module.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation to company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and QA teams for problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best working practices.
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship training or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is essential.
- Ability to fault find and repair pumps, motors, and mechanical parts.
- Experience with Machinery Safety Regulations, PUWER, and CE Marking.
- Good understanding of general HSE requirements and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Initiative and ability to identify equipment improvements.
