Position Summary: Responsible for planning and executing Rosyth's daily shipment operations, ensuring regulatory compliance for imports and exports while supporting cross‑functional teams with documentation and logistics queries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily shipment planning and execution.
  • Ensuring all shipping records and documentation are kept for future HMRC audits.
  • Providing loadout assistance to Project Managers to ensure accurate and timely project dispatch.
  • Managing customs clearances for imports and exports, liaising with approved brokers, suppliers and clients.
  • Creating, reviewing and issuing all Rosyth shipping documentation such as commercial invoices and packing lists.
  • Reviewing shipping documentation such as Airway Bills, Bills of Lading and CMRs to ensure accuracy.
  • Responding to logistics and minor trade compliance queries from internal teams and external partners.
  • Preparing and comparing quotes for logistics movements, coordinating with carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Raising and managing logistics purchase orders under $10K spend.
  • Arranging for hazardous goods to receive correct packing and labelling.
  • Ensuring accuracy of HTS (harmonized tariff schedule) classifications and maintaining classification records.

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Institute Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification or pursuing it.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Shipping Dangerous Goods, Customs or Trade Compliance) are advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

  • Practical experience in export/import operations and customs procedures.
  • Knowledge of HTS classification system and hazardous shipping regulations.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience preparing logistics quotes and managing freight purchase orders.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customs brokers and carriers.
  • Proactive problem‑solving skills and ability to work under tight timelines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in ERP systems.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer‑service experience, responding promptly to client needs.
  • Planning and organizing priorities and work activities.
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment.
