Position Summary

** This role is a Part Time Office based position based in Aberdeen working 22.5 hours per week over 3 days and is offered on a fixed term basis for 18 months**

The Assistant Inspection Engineer will provide technical support, to inspection activities on allocated projects or assets ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory, operational and commercial requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Comply with HSEQ Requirements as described in the HSEQ Manual, Procedures, Staff Handbook, and as specified by customer HSEQ requirements.
  • Provide support for the inspection engineer in asset integrity inspections and monitoring plans in support of Inspection/integrity management for all above water facilities on nominated asset(s).
  • Provide support in the of inspection work packs for pipework and vessels in accordance with RBI inspection plans and Corrosion Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure inspection isometrics are maintained and remain accurate.
  • Retrieve project specific technical data from client library/documentation as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of inspection and corrosion data for input into RBA reviews/and (or) client presentations and meetings.
  • Provide support in the of inspection drawing mark-up.
  • Produce various comprehensive equipment listings for database records.
  • Support inspection engineer in maintaining the anomaly database and ensure all defects are subject to appropriate engineering evaluation.
  • Assist in the review of completed inspection work packs/reports.
  • Produce meeting minutes or notes as directed, monitor outstanding actions and minute the response from vendor, the client and any other relevant parties.
  • Provide general assistance to the engineers on the project as required.
  • TAR inspection planning
  • Ensure effective data management within MMS database.
  • Assist in the maintaining of electronic and hard copy filing systems.

NON-ESSENTIAL

  • Assist with duties as directed by Senior Discipline Engineers
  • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Degree or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

DESIRED

  • HNC/HND or greater in an engineering discipline – preferably Mechanical engineering qualification or working towards qualification
  • NDT Certification for core techniques

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Minimum 2 years experience related to the job description
  • Familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding, codes standard, risk assessments and legislation associated with the in-service inspection of plant and equipment
  • Good knowledge of NDE systems and techniques
  • Ability to work to given deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision
  • Experience of working on PC work stations in particular with Microsoft office products
  • Ensures that regular consistent communication and interaction takes place with project team.
