Job Description
This is a pivotal senior role within the Commercial Team, offering the opportunity to shape and drive bid strategy, influence business growth, and develop the next generation of commercial talent through functional leadership, coaching and quality oversight. The role is a cross-business role, responsible for leading and enhancing the company's tendering and commercial governance processes, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, commercially robust proposals while effectively managing risk and compliance throughout the process.
Working at the centre of the business, the Tender Manager is accountable for leading the development and delivery of high-quality, commerciallyrobustand customer-focused tender submissions for both the Subsea Robotics and Offshore Projects Group opportunities, across the Eastern Hemisphere. Beyond the delivery of individual tenders, this role plays a critical part in strengthening commercial capability across the organisation through mentoring, coaching and developing team members, driving continuous improvement, and embedding best practice.
Responsibilities
Oversee and lead complex tenders in support of Subsea Robotics (SSR) and Offshore Project Groups (OPG).
Lead the development, structure and population of bid pricing models and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with approved commercial assumptions, project execution strategies and client requirements.
Act as the commercial integration between internal SME’s including Projects, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Compliance and Executive Leadership Team stakeholders, ensuring bid strategies, commercial positions, risk assessments and governance requirements are aligned throughout the opportunity lifecycle
Ensure bid calculations accurately reflect scope assumptions, operational constraints, contractual obligations, tax considerations and commercial risks.
Facilitate formal peer reviews of pricing models, cost build-ups and commercial assumptions to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with company procedures
Support development and continuous improvement of bid calculation tools, cost models, estimating templates and pricing methodologies across the business
Lead Bid / No-Bid evaluations ensuring alignment with business objectives, risk appetite and resource availability
Ensure compliance with the Commercial Work Instruction
Facilitate and document bid governance reviews, including risk management, deviation reviews, approval records and lessons learned
Lead commercial risk and opportunity workshops and maintain bid risk registers in accordance with company risk management processes.
Ensure risk mitigations, ownership and commercial provisions are incorporated into pricing strategies and proposal submissions
Lead tender kick-off meetings, establish tender execution plans, deliverables matrices and submission schedules.
Coordinate cross-functional workstreams to ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially robust submissions.
Monitor progress against bid milestones and escalate issues requiring management intervention
Lead tender debrief reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance win rates, commercial governance and proposal quality.
Review, update and improve standard tender templates, commercial tools and governance processes as required
Conduct quality reviews of tender deliverables and promote commercial best practice across the business
Other tasks as may be delegated.
Qualifications
Experience in tender management, proposal management, commercial, contracts, project controls or operational support roles.
Demonstrable relevant experience coordinating and preparing complex tender submissions within the offshore and service sectors.
Working knowledge of commercial principles including pricing development, cost estimation, commercial risk assessment and contract review.
Experience reviewing client contracts, tender documentation and commercial terms and conditions.
Experience supporting bid governance processes, approvals and risk reviews.
Knowledge of ROV, Survey and vessel operations
