Duties And Responsibilities
Tax Manager, Global Employment Taxes will play a crucial role in shaping and executing the company\’s tax strategy, ensuring compliance with global employment tax regulations, and optimizing tax processes to support business objectives. You will be pivotal in assisting in leading and developing the employment tax function across the business. You will work closely with the Director and other team members to drive the global employment tax compliance and strategy across the company and have a real input into decisions across the group.
You will be given the opportunity to work autonomously and manage complex employment tax issues whilst working collaboratively with both functional and operational teams, as well as working with senior stakeholders across the globe.
Functions
The requirements of the Tax Manager, Global Employment Taxes role include but are not limited to:
Compliance
- Ensures all ongoing monthly compliance steps are completed for global employment taxes.
- Management of UK IR35 obligations and similar requirements in other jurisdictions.
- Management of assignees to ensure timely filing of tax documents and maintain tax calendars.
- Manage the annual tax equalization reconciliation process for the expatriate employees.
Planning
- Research, planning, and detailed review of contractual provisions in bid tenders for the purposes of determining payroll tax of anticipated transactions and operations at both the US and non-US level.
- Own relationship with 3rd party service provider responsible for calculating monthly payroll tax exposures and liaise with Finance Department for monthly accruals, exposure analysis and tracking.
- Support the GM department and ensure that the company and employee have been given due guidance related to business case, compliance, international taxation and cost mitigation, as well as policy application in all assignment types including Long Term International Assignments, Short Term International Assignments, Cross Border Commuter Assignments, Cross Border Travelers, International Transfers, and Local Plus moves in conjunction with GM department.
Leadership
- Own relationship with 3rd party service provider responsible for expatriate tax services and perform and coordinate such tasks as needed.
- Ensuring stakeholders abide by OII policies and identify process gaps.
- Ownership of creation of new policies and processes and maintaining existing policies and processes.
- Ownership and / or support with special projects and improvement initiatives as they arise.
Accounting Assistance
- Determining where short-term and long-term (FAS5) payroll tax accruals are required.
- Assistance with reconciling Balance Sheet accruals with 3rd-party payroll tax liability reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has direct (2) and indirect supervisory responsibilities.

- Reports to Director, F&A Shared Services
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field.
- Extensive tax experience with emphasis on global employment tax compliance and research.
- Strong tax compliance, research, automation, communications, and organizational skills as well as self-starting ability are required for this position.
- People leadership experience.
- Complete knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software.
