Position Summary

The Pipe Fitter will lead by example, reporting directly to the Shift Manager, to meet team objectives and business needs. The role involves highlighting concerns or opportunities to the Shift Manager and ensuring adherence to all company standards, policies, and procedures, reporting any queries for effective resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential

  • Adhere to all Oceaneering safety policies, procedures, and Lifesaving rules. Demonstrate and promote Safe Start behaviors and attend Toolbox Talks daily, reading, understanding, and signing risk assessments before work.
  • Own personal wellbeing, behaviors, and performance, ensuring process changes are communicated through TBT, JSEA, Training, and competency programs.
  • Assist in incident investigations, ensuring the area is secure and following HS0020 Incident Management Level 3 procedures with detailed documentation.
  • Be aware of and accountable for daily performance targets, highlighting issues to the Shift Manager.
  • Take full ownership of delegated tasks to meet production targets.
  • Highlight issues to maintenance, QA, and Process Engineering to prevent downtime.
  • Encourage team members to suggest improvements to enhance production schedules.
  • Ensure all checks are completed before start-up using the clean sweep and Preprocess Audit techniques to ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering & Manufacturing Management to improve product quality.
  • Report maintenance issues directly to maintenance and inform the Shift Manager for follow-up.
  • Complete all data accurately within the production package and communicate any special instructions before starting tasks.
  • Maintain good documentation practices and adhere to the Production inspection plan, including client witness or hold points.
  • Assist with QA nonconformance investigations to ensure proper problem resolution.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, flexibility for shift changes, and follow guidelines set by Manufacturing management.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently, engaging with colleagues and stakeholders to meet job requirements.
  • Continuously develop skills to meet or exceed role expectations and future career opportunities.
  • Work safely and to customer specifications, taking full process ownership and striving for continual improvement.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas, ensuring tools and materials are ready and unused kits are returned to stores.
  • Participate in Engineering Handovers & Design Reviews and highlight any breaches in standards or wellbeing matters to the Shift Manager.
  • Assist in work processes across departments as needed and mentor or assess current and future personnel.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a background in heavy manufacturing, with Pipe Fitting qualifications such as NVQ / City & Guilds, and experience with Small Bore Tubing prep/forming. Knowledge of manufacturing is preferred but not essential. Academic qualifications or equivalent experience will be considered, with accommodations for disabilities where appropriate.
