Duties And Responsibilities

To support implementation of the Integrity Management services on Non-Pressure & Pressure Systems for the allocated Assets/sites. Also support effective implementation of Corrosion and Risk Management services. These services are to be in line with Oceaneering and Client’s documentary requirements and onshore / offshore legislation(s) where applicable.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

  • Inspection of tankage, pressure vessels and piping.
  • Develop and maintain WSEs (written schemes of examination/inspection templates) for tankage, pressure equipment and piping.
  • Participate in the application of Risk Based Inspection (RBI) for equipment and piping in order to support the WSE. Plan, direct and interpret non-destructive examinations of equipment and piping as part of inspection plan.
  • Provide support to Integrity Management, Inspection Management, Risk Assessment, Corrosion Engineering activities for Pressure and Non-Systems in accordance with client contractual requirements.
  • Ensure new construction works, repairs and modifications are carried out in accordance with the relevant corporate, national, and international codes and standards.
  • Conducting on stream and TAR internal and external inspections of process/off-plot units,
  • Support implementation and roll out of revisions to corporate standards and industry legislation.
  • Approve Engineering designs and provide specialist support for the Mechanical elements of new projects.
  • Actively engage with leaders, SMEs and peers across industry.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge through continued professional development with the Engineering Council
  • Candidate Requirements: MEng/BEng/BSc degree Mechanical Engineering Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with a relevant engineering institution/or working towards any of the above degree qualification.
  • Responsible for carrying out fitness for service assessment ‘Integrity’ on pressure vessels, piping systems and storage tanks. Apply the principles within API, ASME, EEMUA, NACE,
  • HSE legislation of Ageing Plant.

PREFERABLE (Standard and Non-Standard NDT Disciplines)

  • Assist Technical Leads and Advanced NDT Management in day-to-day activities.
  • Assisting with client enquiries, organisation and execution of jobs following work instructions.
  • Preparing equipment, maintenance and QHSE (Oceaneering and Client) documentation.
  • To further train and qualify in Standard and Non-Standard NDT disciplines.
  • Travel alone or as part of a team, to be self-sufficient and organised in pre job preparation, execution and post job activities including reporting and job file completion.

Safety

  • Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.

Other

  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Extensive related experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • API 510, API5 70, API 653, ASME VIII D1, ASME II, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4 & 31.8, ASME Level 1 and/or Level 2 Plant Inspector.

Working knowledge of:

  • Risk Based Analysis (API RP580/581/579).
  • Degradation Mechanisms.
  • Corrosion Engineering.
  • Corrosion mitigation.

PREFERABLE

  • BEng/BSc (or working too) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
  • Standard NDT qualifications to Level 2 as a minimum – Minimum UT 3.1 & 3.2
  • Non-Standard qualifications as determined by Advanced NDT Management, Level 2 minimum.
  • Have the ability to read, analyse and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
