Oceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore energy industry. Duties And Responsibilities

The HSSE Manager will be responsible for supporting operations related to the Oceaneering site at Rosyth. Must be an effective leader and support Operations with guidance and information to 1) identify, understand, and mitigate HSSE-related risks and 2) help develop a workforce that operates in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times. The HSSE Manager shall also educate, mentor and develop direct reports.

  • Collaborates with the division leaders to ensure that the workplace is safe and that all employees return home from work each day, unharmed.
  • Advises Operations and HSSE Personnel in developing workforce HSSE skills (e.g., pro-active reporting, risk identification, care in routine operations).
  • Educates on applicable HSSE requirements (e.g., laws/regulations, customer requirements, and OII policies/initiatives).
  • Verifies compliance with applicable HSSE requirements (e.g., HSE Audits/Assessments/Inspections/ISO).
  • Participates in up-front project planning/scoping discussions to assist in capturing HSSE requirements.
  • Collects, trends, and reports on HSE data (e.g., trends in proactive reporting, near-hits, incidents).
  • Participates in and/or leads incident and root cause investigations (e.g., root cause, lessons learned, and developing corrective actions).
  • Develops HSSE schedules and budgets.
  • Tracks corrective actions to completion.
  • Works with customers to ensure appropriate two-way communication and lesson sharing.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required (20%).

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Other

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company. Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a Health, Safety, Environmental related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive relevant industry experience.
  • Relevant HSE management or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem-solving.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.
  • Treats others fairly and with respect.
  • Knowledge of department's policies, rules, regulations, business goals, vision, organizational structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, and values, etc.
  • Ability to establish and maintain project priorities.
  • Seeks out new learning experiences.
  • Identifies what needs to be done and takes action before being asked or required.
