Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise.
- Resolve technical queries and ensure satisfactory outcomes.
- Proficient in preparing and checking design deliverables within the budget hours/norms and schedule.
- Competent in completing site surveys and interpreting survey data/documentation in completion of design deliverables.
- Provide input to project planning as part of the team for achieving targets and completion within budget and schedule; ensuring that all design work is carried out in accordance with priorities and schedules.
- Plan, budget and coordinate resources, contribute to the development of plans, schedules and estimates for individual work scopes.
- Skilled at preparing design scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates where necessary.
- Reporting on job progress as well as reviewing progress and cost reports regarding design activities.
- Comply with relevant codes of conduct.
- Ensure that all work complies with the Company and Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.
- Report any incidents/near misses, hazards, unsafe acts/conditions, or positive behaviour to a responsible person immediately, and participate in incident investigations where required.
- Actively participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, HSE audits, and other relevant meetings where required.
- Perform work responsibly, taking account of environmental, social and economic requirements.
Essential Knowledge & Competencies
- Proficient and knowledgeable of regulatory framework and legislation.
- Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and where applicable client codes and standards.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk ReCap.
- Ability to understand client requirements, proficient in scope definition through Concept/FEED/Detailed Design and support fabrication and construction.
- Competent in respect of constructability to support fabrication and construction.
- Foster positive and effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Proficient in various applicable design software systems and Microsoft packages.
- Good interpersonal skills - ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Sound time and resource management skills.
- Cognisant of business requirements and needs and adaptable to changing environment and business requirements.
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations.
- Able to travel in the UK and abroad, as well as offshore.
