Come and work at the aquarium by the beach! An exciting opportunity for an energetic, confident and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Manager has arisen at the Bournemouth Oceanarium. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate a team and manage all three of the catering outlets.
As well as ensuring that an excellent experience and product is delivered to all our visitors, the role will oversee and manage the department ensuring that all spend opportunities are maximised while providing a high-quality service.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Team leadership – Driving a team of seasonal employees through a fast-paced and energetic environment. Establishing a positive work culture and promoting teamwork.
- Guest satisfaction – Ensuring our guests receive exceptional service and an enjoyable experience during their time with us.
- Daily operations management – Overseeing the Offshore café, Ice Cream Kiosk, Bay View Kiosk and Penguin Kiosk, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Stock management – Monitoring and managing inventory levels, including ordering supplies and conducting regular stock checks.
The successful applicant would ideally have previous experience in a managerial role within the catering or hospitality industry, as well as possessing strong communication skills. An understanding of COSHH and food hygiene (to a Level 3 minimum) is required along with safe practices of working in a catering environment.
WORKING HOURS - 40 HOURS A WEEK, HOURS VARY, WEEKEND AVAILABILITY AND FULL AVAILABILITY IN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.
