Title: Management Accountant
Department: Finance
Location: London, UK
Responsibilities
- Prepare and finalise monthly management accounts for multiple legal entities, including journal postings, ledger reviews and supporting schedules.
- Lead or support revenue reporting and cost analysis, ensuring alignment with contract terms and revenue recognition policies.
- Own key balance sheet areas such as deferred income, accrued revenue, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and inter‑company reconciliations.
- Prepare and review P&L reports, cost centre performance, variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership.
- Support sub‑consolidation process at month‑end, including currency translation, inter‑company eliminations and group reporting pack submissions.
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting deliverables, including monthly trial balance submission to Group.
- Coordinate year‑end statutory audit process across OTG and OneOcean, prepare audit packs, resolve queries and liaise with external auditors.
- Support preparation of UK statutory accounts under FRS 102, including notes, disclosures and reconciliations between management and statutory views.
- Assist with tax‑related reporting including VAT returns, R&D tax credit preparation, corporation tax packs and audit queries.
- Contribute to monthly treasury reporting, including cash flow forecasting, cash reconciliations and FX exposure tracking.
- Participate in post‑acquisition integration projects, harmonising processes, documenting SOPs and aligning control environments.
- Support finance leadership in internal control improvement initiatives, policy documentation and training for junior staff.
- Take ownership of tasks and deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant financial or management accounting experience, ideally in a multi‑entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) and experience preparing or auditing statutory financial statements.
- Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles and practical experience with deferred/accrued income.
- Hands‑on experience producing management accounts, journal adjustments and reconciling complex balance sheet areas.
- Advanced Excel skills for manipulating large data sets and building reporting tools.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP, including report extraction and transaction navigation.
- Effective communicator, confident working with finance and non‑finance stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised, strong attention to detail, ownership of deadlines and ability to multitask in a changing environment.
- Experience supporting or coordinating year‑end audits, including preparation of audit files and resolving queries.
