The Marketing Manager will take full ownership of delivering successful, audience-focused events across our events portfolio leading on our Flooring exhibitions while also supporting wider housing exhibitions and conferences and awards. You will develop and execute multi-channel marketing strategies and campaigns that drive attendance, revenue and engagement, producing on-brand creative, managing event websites, and overseeing budgets. You will collaborate with internal teams, manage digital agencies, build strong relationships with sponsors, exhibitors and media partners, and track campaign performance to optimise results. This is a senior, leading role with responsibility for shaping and delivering the marketing strategy across a high-profile portfolio of events.
Responsibilities
- Lead the marketing for the flooring events portfolio, taking full ownership and responsibility for delivering successful events and engaging target audiences.
- Developing and delivering a marketing strategy with clear positioning, brand promises and messaging for each event.
- Plan and execute innovative multi-channel marketing campaigns to support the sales team in meeting their revenue targets as well as driving attendance in line with delegate/visitor/spex targets.
- Produce creative/design and messaging consistent with brand guidelines.
- Manage each event website including copy, content and set up.
- Create print and digital advertisements, brochures and engaging email campaigns that prompt favourable customer response to our products and campaigns.
- Brief and liaise with our digital marketing agency to ensure PPC and remarketing campaigns are set up on time and produce great results.
- Work closely with the publications marketing team to maximise cross marketing opportunities and routes to market.
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of the marketing budget and ensure pre-agreed activities are delivered in line with the agreed budget.
- Research and set up effective media partnerships with external media and industry associations to help drive delegates and revenue.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with our partner organisations, sponsors and exhibitors to ensure that their objectives met, and expectations managed.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns in order to optimise results.
- Pro-actively identifying poor performing/outperforming activities recommend steps to address/enhance and monitor.
- Attend regular internal meetings reporting on activities undertaken and suggesting new initiatives.
- Ensuring the timely production of post-event reports and ad hoc reports for meetings and presentations.
Qualifications
- Degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
Required Skills
- At least 3 years in a senior marketing role, ideally within events, exhibitions or B2B media.
- Proven track record in planning and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns (traditional, digital, integrated).
- Strong experience in digital marketing, including email campaigns, social media, mobile targeting, CMS management, and multimedia content creation (video, infographics, digital storytelling).
- Experience in lead generation, conversion optimisation, and collaborating with sales teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong editorial skills and ability to simplify complex topics.
- Knowledge of database segmentation, GDPR compliance, and campaign analytics, using insights to optimise results.
- Commercially aware with a hands‑on approach and strong attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and project management skills; able to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Energetic, confident, ambitious, and collaborative, with experience managing and mentoring a team.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and partners.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of the property, housing or residential sector, or the ability to quickly understand complex subject matter.
