We are looking for an International Tax Advisor in Aberdeen who will be responsible for providing expert advice on tax-related matters to ensure compliance while optimising efficiency. The International Tax Advisor will support business decisions through proactive tax planning, analysis of tax implications and effective interaction with tax authorities and external advisors.
What You’ll Do
- Tax Advisory & Planning
- Provide tax guidance to support internationalisation of the business.
- Work with Business Development and Legal teams to support comparing and creating tax efficient contracting structures including Joint Ventures/Consortiums and/or potential Ocean Installer local entities, when entering new countries internationally.
- Provide support to Legal for Ocean Installer local entity set up or closing.
- Work closely with the Tender Team to price tax inclusive proposals including understanding implications of relevant double tax treaties, recoverability of withholding taxes, value added tax, personnel taxes, re‑patriation costs and other tax related challenges.
- Support the Tender Team providing the tax information to support Bid/No Bid decisions.
- Support tax planning initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Provide advice on all applicable taxes impacting the company internationally and communicating the impacts to all relevant company stakeholders.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of local/international tenders, tax returns and filings.
- Monitor compliance with local and international tax regulations.
- Maintain strong relationships with external Legal/Tax Advisors to keep up to date with changes in tax legislation, and assess their impact on the business by communicating this to all relevant stakeholders in the company.
- Collaborate with finance and project teams to ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting.
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes relating to tax provisions.
- Provide input on tax implications of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Identify and assess tax risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Assist in implementing internal controls related to tax processes.
- Support audits and enquiries from the tax authorities both locally and internationally.
- Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with external auditors, tax/legal advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide clear guidance to internal stakeholders including the Business Development Team, Tender Team, Project Teams and Legal on tax‑related matters.

What You’ll Bring
