We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the end‑to‑end development of a mature but fast‑evolving maritime autonomous systems product line. This role will combine:
- Product definition & roadmap ownership (requirements, prioritisation, long‑term vision)
- Cross‑functional coordination (engineering, delivery programmes, customer‑facing teams)
- Operationally driven product development (shaped by real customer projects and field use)
You will ensure that product decisions are grounded in genuine operational demand, maintaining a coherent long‑term product direction while supporting near‑term delivery needs across multiple active programmes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, delivery, and customer operations — someone who can communicate clearly, build technical credibility, and operate autonomously within a complex product‑line environment. You’ll be closely involved in live programme delivery, with selective contributions to bid activity and technical product positioning.
What you will be doing:
- Own the product roadmap for a defined maritime autonomous systems product line, ensuring alignment between programme demands, engineering capability, and long‑term strategic direction.
- Act as the primary interface between engineering teams and customer‑facing account managers, translating operational requirements into clear, prioritised product definitions.
- Maintain long‑term technical and functional coherence of the product line, avoiding fragmentation driven by short‑term programme pressures.
- Hold formal ownership of product requirements, backlog, and acceptance criteria, ensuring delivered capability aligns with agreed product intent.
- Support programme delivery by resolving product‑level trade‑offs, clarifying scope, and enabling timely decision‑making across stakeholders.
- Contribute to bid and business development activity through technical product input, proposal support, and clear articulation of product capability and roadmap.
- Communicate product strategy, priorities, and rationale effectively across engineering, delivery, and commercial teams.
Who you are:
- Proven experience in a product management role, or equivalent experience in a technically adjacent role with clear ownership of product definition and alignment.
- Relevant technical background in software, robotics, maritime systems, autonomy, or similarly complex engineered systems.
- Ability to read, understand, and challenge system architectures and technical decisions at an appropriate level of detail.
- Experience operating in delivery‑led, programme‑driven environments where product development is tightly coupled to customer work.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to align diverse internal stakeholders around clear product priorities and decisions.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in maritime, autonomous, or remote vehicle platforms.
- Experience supporting bids, proposals, or technical product positioning in defence, government, or other regulated markets.
- Demonstrated ability to balance customer focus, delivery realism, and long‑term product leverage.
- Experience working on products that have scaled across multiple programmes, regions, or markets.
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
