Ocean Infinity is seeking a Project Controller to strengthen financial control across internal and external projects within our Finance function. This role is focused on improving project valuation, cost control, and financial visibility, working closely with Project Managers and Finance leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and decision-useful reporting. Reporting to the FP&A Lead, you will sit at the intersection of finance and delivery, supporting project governance, forecasting, and analysis across the project lifecycle.

What Will You Do

  • Partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate project valuation and a clear understanding of the financial impact of project events and changes.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions, and support decision-making.
  • Hold regular review sessions with Project Managers to assess project status, timelines, and financial performance.
  • Produce weekly project status reports, highlighting key events, risks, and variances.
  • Support monthly project valuation processes in line with accounting standards.
  • Manage and monitor project cash flows.
  • Ensure correct intercompany project postings and financial treatment.

Analysis and reporting

  • Support financial analysis across projects, departments, and the wider business.
  • Prepare and present financial reports covering revenue, costs, and variances against budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide clear commentary and insight to support management understanding and action.

Budgets, closings, and audits

  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes, supporting department leads as required.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including analysis, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Provide documentation and explanations to support internal and external audits.

Who You Are

You are a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working close to the operational side of the business. You are comfortable challenging numbers, asking questions, and translating financial data into clear insights. You work well with both finance and non-finance stakeholders and remain structured and focused under time pressure.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Part-qualified or studying towards CIMA or ACCA.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, cost control, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Experience working with projects or project accounting is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in financial analysis tools, particularly Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high standard of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Critical thinker with the confidence to show initiative.
  • Open-minded and receptive to new ideas and ways of working.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, as required.
