Role Purpose
Lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of Product Lifecycle Management systems across Ocean Infinity, with a focus on SolidWorks PDM and SolidWorks Manage. This role is responsible for ensuring that engineering data, documentation and configuration control are structured, accessible and aligned to business and operational needs. It plays a key part in enabling consistent product delivery, supporting fleet mobilisation and maintaining compliance with ISO9001 standards. The PLM Systems Lead is accountable for system performance, data integrity and adoption across the business, as well as leading the Data Configuration team within the Hardware function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Data Configuration team, including BoM coordination, CAD data management, document control and technical documentation.
- Own the rollout, adoption and ongoing improvement of SolidWorks PDM and SolidWorks Manage across the global business.
- Act as the subject matter expert for PLM systems, supporting users and driving consistent ways of working.
- Manage system configuration, administration and performance of SolidWorks Manage and PDM environments.
- Ensure engineering data, BoMs and documentation are accurate, controlled and accessible across the organisation.
- Establish and maintain configuration control processes, including change management activities such as ECRs, NCRs and OFIs.
- Ensure all documentation meets ISO9001 standards and internal quality requirements.
- Work closely with IT to manage system access, upgrades, performance and downtime.
- Support Product Design, Fleet and Commercial teams with access to accurate and up to date technical data.
- Enable efficient mobilisation of systems through clear, structured and reliable documentation.
- Maintain a centralised and well organised document repository across all hardware products.
- Support visual outputs such as deck plans, renders and supporting technical materials where required.
- Drive continuous improvement in PLM processes, data management and system usage across the business.

Qualifications and experience:
- Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, systems or a related field.
- Strong experience with SolidWorks PDM and SolidWorks Manage, including system administration.
- Good understanding of product lifecycle management, configuration control and engineering data structures.
- Experience managing BoMs, CAD data and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex data sets.
- Experience working in engineering environments with quality and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading or supporting teams in data, documentation or PLM environments.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a fast paced environment.
- Clear communicator who can work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of system performance and delivery.
Desirable:
- Experience in marine, robotics, defence or other high integrity engineering environments.
- Understanding of ISO9001 and quality management systems.
- Experience working with engineering change processes and governance frameworks.
- Exposure to product-led environments and integrated engineering systems.
