The procurement team is seeking an IT Buyer to support day-to-day procurement activities while contributing to IT category management and strategic sourcing initiatives. The IT Buyer will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to convert business demand into effective sourcing outcomes, support contract and supplier management, and identify opportunities to optimise total cost, reduce risk, and improve service delivery.
What You Will Do- Support category and sub-category strategies aligned with approved procurement roadmaps.
- Run RFx and tender processes, evaluate bids, support negotiations, and recommend awards in line with Delegation of Authority.
- Manage day-to-day operative purchasing activities including RFQs, purchase orders, confirmations, changes, and close-out.
- Maintain contract and framework compliance, including utilization of agreed suppliers and pricing.
- Manage supplier relationships and monitor delivery performance, cost, and quality.
- Identify & support cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value-add initiatives across goods and services.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Diploma, degree, or professional qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g. CIPS, CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years’ experience in procurement within an IT and or software environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience supporting RFx, tendering, supplier management, and basic contract management.
- Understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO), supplier performance, and commercial risk.
- Honest, pragmatic, and professional with high attention to detail.
- Strong communicator with the ability to build effective stakeholder and supplier relationships.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical, improvement-minded, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrates integrity and discretion when handling confidential matters.
Salary for this position: Up to £45,000 per annum. The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
