What Will You Do
- Design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure, primarily within Microsoft Azure.
- Support and integrate hybrid infrastructure, including on-premises systems and remote operational environments.
- Contribute to infrastructure and systems architecture, working across a broad range of platforms beyond core cloud services.
- Implement and maintain secure networking and connectivity, including routing, firewalls, private connectivity, and hybrid integration.
- Monitor infrastructure health, availability, performance, and cost, proactively identifying issues and improvement opportunities.
- Act as a 3rd line escalation point for complex infrastructure and cloud-related incidents.
- Contribute to and support automation initiatives, working alongside platform teams to improve consistency and reduce operational overhead.
- Apply security-by-design principles, implementing controls and working with Cyber and Security teams on secure infrastructure patterns.
- Support and deliver infrastructure projects, including new services, enhancements, and platform improvements.
- Create and maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, including build documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver infrastructure solutions aligned with business and operational needs.
- Actively contribute to FinOps and cost optimisation initiatives, helping to identify and deliver ongoing cloud cost savings.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices, recommending improvements where they provide clear value.
- Provide support in relation to new project deployments.
- Providing assistance with troubleshooting application related issues.
Who You Are
- Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure, ideally within Microsoft Azure.
- Experience working with hybrid environments, integrating cloud and on-premises systems.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewall concepts.
- Experience with virtualisation, storage, and infrastructure platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud, network, and infrastructure layers.
- Comfortable working remotely as part of a small, globally distributed team.
- Able to balance operational responsibilities with design and improvement work.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Thoughtful, thorough and conscientious.
- Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
