Ocean Infinity is seeking an AUV Lead that will direct and oversee the operation, maintenance, and management of Ocean Infinity's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) fleet, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Our fleet consists of 21 Kongsberg vehicles. This role involves leading the AUV team, enhancing operational procedures, and aligning AUV activities with the strategic goals of the Commercial Team.

What you will do:

  • Supervise and manage AUV Operators, Supervisors, and Superintendents;
  • Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence within the team;
  • Oversee daily AUV operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational protocols;
  • Develop and optimize workflows for AUV deployment, recovery, and maintenance;
  • Collaborate with the Head of Commercial Asset Management to align AUV operations with the company’s strategic objectives;
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for AUV utilization and fleet expansion;
  • Ensure that all AUV systems and equipment are maintained to the highest standard;
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve operational challenges and enhance system reliability;
  • Oversee training programs for AUV personnel, ensuring the team is proficient in using and maintaining AUV systems;
  • Mentor team members, supporting their professional growth and development;
  • Ensure compliance with international and local regulations related to underwater operations;
  • Maintain detailed records of AUV operations, maintenance schedules, and incident reports;
  • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance AUV performance;
  • Stay updated on advancements in AUV technology and integrate best practices into operations.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing AUV operations or similar underwater systems;
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams in a marine or offshore environment;
  • Strong understanding of international safety and compliance standards for underwater operations;
  • Experience with AUV maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational protocols.
  • Desirable:
  • Familiarity with data collection and processing methods used in subsea exploration;
  • Knowledge of cutting-edge AUV technologies and trends;
  • Experience with fleet management software and operational tracking tools;
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2);
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-department collaboration.

Salary for this position: Up to £120,000 per annum. The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
