Ocean Infinity is seeking an Operations Capability & Performance Manager to shape and mature the frameworks that underpin safe, predictable, and high‑quality offshore delivery across Data Services. This role is responsible for defining and governing the operational capability architecture and driving operating model maturity. You will establish clear decision governance, align cross‑functional interfaces, and set consistent standards that enable effective, scalable delivery across the organisation. You will own the performance governance framework—setting performance criteria, readiness standards, and cross‑functional mechanisms that ensure consistency and accountability across operations. While you define how success is measured and governed, delivery remains with functional teams.

What you will do:

  • Capability Architecture and Future Readiness: Define and maintain the Data Services operational capability architecture, ensuring it remains fit‑for‑purpose, aligned to business priorities, and continuously matured. Horizon-scan and assess future operational capabilities and enabling technologies required to support growth, new delivery models, and evolving execution strategies. Help develop necessary business cases for initiatives and tracking of delivery and value realisation against these.
  • Decision Governance and Operating Model Control: Establish and own decision governance including clear accountabilities, escalation paths, and decision rights across Data Services functions. Ensure clear separation between capability design and execution, with functional teams accountable for delivery within defined standards and frameworks. Act as a central integrator across Data Services, ensuring aligned operating principles, high‑quality decision‑making, and consistent performance discipline.
  • Performance and Execution Frameworks: Define and maintain Operations Performance frameworks that enable safe, predictable, and high‑quality offshore delivery across Data Services. Own and govern operational performance criteria, ensuring consistent application of success measures, and performance expectations across all functions. Establish and chair cross‑functional performance and capability governance forums, driving consistency and discipline while respecting functional ownership of delivery. Lead operations analytics across Data Services, ensuring operational data is used to improve predictability, efficiency, resilience, and delivery confidence. Drive continuous improvement by identifying systemic performance gaps and translating lessons learned into updated standards, governance, and capability requirements.
  • Enterprise Baseline, Risk & Decision Quality: Establish and maintain a clear enterprise operational baseline across assets, fleets, crews, and execution models. Define and govern portfolio‑level risk appetite and decision frameworks, ensuring leadership decisions are informed by integrated risk, capacity, and performance insight. Improve decision quality by providing data‑driven insight into trade‑offs across cost, capacity, risk, and performance.

Who You Are:

  • Strong offshore operational experience, with a clear understanding of what drives safe, predictable, high-quality delivery in complex environments.
  • You think in systems — able to step back from day-to-day delivery and define how capability, governance, and performance frameworks fit together.
  • Passionate about improving how operations perform, with a focus on structure, clarity, and consistency rather than ad hoc solutions.
  • Comfortable defining standards and frameworks that others execute against, while maintaining strong alignment with operational realities.
  • Clear and structured approach to decision-making, governance, and accountability, and can apply this across multiple functions.
  • Data-driven, using performance insight to identify gaps, drive improvement, and support better decision-making.
  • Confident working across senior stakeholders, acting as an integrator to align priorities, resolve trade-offs, and maintain discipline.
  • Communicate clearly and directly, able to simplify complex topics and drive shared understanding.
  • You focus on outcomes and long-term improvement, not just immediate delivery pressures.
  • Pragmatic — able to balance consistency and control with the need for operational flexibility.

Desirable:

  • Experience defining or evolving operating models, governance structures, or capability frameworks in an offshore or technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of performance management in complex operations, including defining KPIs, success criteria, and governance rhythms.
  • Experience establishing or running cross-functional governance forums or performance reviews.
  • Familiarity with risk frameworks, decision quality models, or portfolio-level planning.
  • Exposure to operations analytics and the use of data to drive performance and predictability.
  • Experience supporting business case development and tracking value realisation.
  • Understanding of Offshore Surveys, AUV/ROV operations, or similar integrated offshore delivery models.
  • Experience working across distributed operations (vessels, remote operations centres, onshore teams).
  • Ability to work in evolving environments, bringing structure and discipline without overcomplicating.

Salary for this position: Up to £85,000 per annum. The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
