Overview
Ocean Infinity is seeking a Buyer that will support the SCM team in procurement and supply chain activities. The focus will be on all IT procurement for the business, where the Buyer will help create and deliver on category strategy. The Buyer will also support day-to-day operational activities, such as sourcing, negotiating prices and terms, ordering, expediting, inventory/stock management and supplier management. The Buyer will also support supplier performance evaluation, audits and contribute to development of internal procurement procedure and processes.
What You Will Do
- Work according to the procurement strategy for the area or category of spend, including supporting the development and implementation of category strategy
- Review purchase requisitions and identify sources of supply
- Advise stakeholders of modifications from original requests where more cost-efficient or beneficial alternatives exist
- Support internal stakeholders in RFQ procedures and project cost estimates
- With the support of legal, select and negotiate appropriate forms of contract, terms and conditions
- Develop bid evaluation criteria, make purchase recommendations and obtain necessary approvals
- Negotiate best prices and terms for purchased goods and services
- Support internal stakeholders in expediting and logistics planning, where applicable
- Measure, track and follow up on contractual compliance and take corrective actions to improve
Who You Are
- CIPS membership and qualifications, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain role or demonstrable transferable skills and experience
- Knowledge of category management approaches to indirect procurement (particularly professional services, facilities)
- Experience with procurement and supply chain software and operational tracking tools
Desirable
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in a business, commercial or management subject
- Business, project management, legal, leadership or other relevant qualifications/certifications
- Familiarity with various forms of contract for goods and services, master frameworks or service level agreements
- Experience in supplier relationship management and supplier performance management
- Familiarity with spend and supplier data collection, analysis and reporting
Salary for this position: Up to £40,000 per annum
