We are not your average workplace.
We are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to lead the definition and ongoing stewardship of the technical solution architecture for complex, programme-delivered maritime autonomous systems. This role will combine:
- Solution-level architecture ownership (translating outcomes and requirements into structured, decomposed architectures)
- Cross-functional technical coordination (engineering teams, product leadership, suppliers, and delivery programmes)
- Hands-on architectural support throughout delivery (managing technical risk, integration challenges, and system coherence)
You will ensure that multi-component, multi-vendor solutions come together as a coherent whole, maintaining architectural integrity while supporting the practical realities of live programme delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of systems engineering, delivery, and technical leadership — someone who can communicate clearly, build credibility across diverse teams, and operate confidently within a complex, fast-moving programme environment. You’ll be deeply embedded in active delivery programmes, with selective involvement in shaping solution-level inputs to bids and early-stage technical positioning.
What you will be doing
- Develop and own end-to-end solution architectures that decompose complex customer problems into deliverable functional components with clear interfaces and dependencies
- Translate solution-level outcomes and requirements, provided by Product Management, into detailed architectural definitions that can be planned and executed by engineering teams
- Define and maintain interface specifications, functional boundaries, and integration assumptions across internal systems and external suppliers
- Act as a technical integrator across product teams, engineering disciplines, and vendors, ensuring delivered components combine into a coherent solution
- Surface, manage, and communicate solution-level technical risks, working with engineering and delivery teams to resolve issues pragmatically
- Support programme delivery by providing architectural guidance, design review, and structured problem decomposition as the solution evolves
- Produce clear technical documentation describing solution architectures, assumptions, interfaces, and delivery intent
- Feed customer and programme learning back into product and engineering roadmaps to improve reusability and future delivery leverage
Who you are
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or in a closely related technical role delivering complex, integrated systems
- Strong systems thinking capability, with experience decomposing complex problems into structured, traceable architectures
- Ability to work across multiple engineering teams and suppliers, influencing technical decisions without direct authority
- Experience managing solution-level integration and technical risk through delivery rather than only at design phase
- Capability to read, critique, and shape architectures while remaining pragmatic and delivery-focused
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architectures clearly to varied stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience in maritime, autonomy, robotics, or safety- or mission-critical systems
- Proven application of model-based systems engineering or equivalent structured architectural approaches on large programmes
- Experience working in multi-vendor, partner-heavy delivery environments
- Demonstrated ability to balance architectural rigour with agile, delivery-driven execution
- Experience supporting the growth of solution capability across increasingly large and complex programmes
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
