We're looking for an experienced and motivated Property Services Supervisor (Repairs) to join our Property Services team and play a key role in delivering an exceptional responsive repairs and maintenance service.
About the Role:
As our Property Services Supervisor, you'll lead and support a team of multi-skilled operatives, ensuring repairs and maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and right first time. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of responsive repairs, quality inspections, performance management, and customer satisfaction, helping us maintain high standards across our housing stock.
Working closely with schedulers, surveyors, housing colleagues, and contractors, you'll coordinate resources, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring excellent value for money and compliance with all relevant regulations.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and motivating a team of multi-skilled trades operatives.
- Supervising responsive repairs and maintenance activities.
- Carrying out pre- and post-work inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Managing performance, productivity, health and safety, and wellbeing within the team.
- Monitoring service delivery and implementing improvements where needed.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to achieve excellent outcomes for customers.
- Managing complaints and resolving issues professionally and effectively.
- Supporting budget management and ensuring value for money.
- Participating in the Out of Hours rota.
What We're Looking For:
You'll be a confident people leader with strong technical knowledge and a passion for customer service.
Essential Requirements:
- A Level (or equivalent Level 3 qualification)
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant building trade, or equivalent experience
- Experience supervising teams and building high-performing work cultures
- Significant experience within property maintenance, construction, or building trades
- Strong knowledge across multiple trade disciplines
- Experience managing subcontractors and producing detailed work schedules
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 and CAR 2012 regulations
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and service management systems
- Understanding of health and safety responsibilities, GDPR, and value for money principles
- Ability to travel across operational locations as required.
Desirable:
- IOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- First-line management qualification (ILM/NVQ Level 3)
- Housing sector experience
- Knowledge of gas and electrical regulations
- Experience delivering service improvements and performance management
- Chartered Institute of Housing qualification or equivalent.
