As our Property Services Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring our repairs, servicing and maintenance programmes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Working closely with the Property Services Manager, you'll lead multi-skilled trades teams, manage performance, support compliance, and ensure we provide a responsive, customer-focused service. Your work will directly support our residents, helping us maintain safe and well-cared-for homes across our communities. You will also take part in the Out-of-Hours call-out rota as the acting supervisor, providing operational leadership and decision-making during emergency situations when required.
Responsibilities
- Supervising and coordinating multi-skilled trades teams
- Delivering responsive, void and planned repairs programmes
- Ensuring services are compliant, efficient and customer-focused
- Managing performance, quality and 'right first time' service delivery
- Supporting health & safety, regulatory compliance and audits
- Preparing work schedules and allocating resources
- Providing professional advice and acting as first point of escalation
- Managing budgets within delegated areas
- Coaching, motivating and developing staff
- Promoting innovation, continuous improvement and value for money
Qualifications
- Experience supervising staff and building effective teams
- Significant knowledge of building maintenance or trade disciplines
- Experience producing work schedules and managing subcontractors
- Strong customer-service focus with excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and confidence using databases and systems
- Understanding of H&S responsibilities, CDM 2015, and CAR 2012
- Ability to work methodically with strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel to various locations as required
- A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification
- Relevant building trade qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
- Evidence of continued professional development, ILM/NVQ Level 3 in management
- CIH or equivalent housing qualification
- IOSH certification
- Experience in the social housing sector
