This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing change, and working closely with operational teams to improve performance through high-quality data and reporting.

About the role:

As our Business Data Analyst, you'll be responsible for interpreting housing and property data, identifying trends and risks, and providing actionable insight that enhances both customer experience and operational performance. You'll work alongside service leaders, colleagues in ICT, and wider business teams to improve data quality, develop meaningful reporting solutions, and ensure the organisation has the evidence required to meet regulatory and consumer standards.

You'll play a vital role in helping managers understand performance drivers, supporting audit and assurance activities, and embedding a culture where data is trusted, understood and used effectively.

What You Will Be Doing:

Delivering Insight That Drives Decisions

  • Analysing complex housing and property datasets to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Producing clear, engaging reports and visual dashboards for operational teams, senior leaders and Boards.
  • Developing performance indicators, risk measures and early warning systems to support service delivery and compliance.
  • Translating business and regulatory requirements into meaningful data measures and reporting solutions.

Improving Data Quality and Governance

  • Profiling and validating data across business systems.
  • Identifying root causes of data issues and implementing practical improvements.
  • Supporting data governance through agreed definitions, controls, ownership models and documentation.
  • Ensuring robust, auditable reporting processes that support regulatory assurance.

Supporting Continuous Improvement

  • Building and maintaining Power BI or Tableau dashboards.
  • Helping automate reporting processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Promoting data literacy and helping colleagues confidently use data and insight.
  • Working collaboratively with service leads to improve business performance and customer outcomes.

What We Are Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience

You'll bring:

  • Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in data and analytics.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience querying, validating and analysing datasets.
  • Proven experience creating dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
  • Experience improving data quality and managing data governance practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting compliance, assurance and audit requirements through robust reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Desirable

  • A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computing or a related subject.
  • Professional certifications in Power BI, SQL or related technologies.
  • Experience working within social housing or another regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of housing regulation and consumer standards.
  • Experience developing automated reporting solutions.
  • GIS knowledge and experience
