Gilbert & Goode is seeking an experienced Adoptions & Engineering Lead to take ownership of the completion and adoption of infrastructure across our developments throughout the South West. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished professional with a strong background in highways, drainage, sectional agreements, and adoption processes to play a pivotal role in delivering thriving, sustainable communities. Working within our Operations team and reporting to the Head of Technical, you will lead the successful delivery of infrastructure completion works, drive adoption programmes, manage contractors and budgets, and ensure the timely release of bonds and liabilities.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Managing the adoption process for highways, drainage, pumping stations and public open spaces.
  • Leading sectional agreements including S38, S104, S111 and S278 through technical, approval and legal processes.
  • Building strong relationships with local authorities, solicitors, contractors, bondsmen and adopting bodies.
  • Overseeing infrastructure completion works, site inspections and remedial programmes to achieve adoption standards.
  • Managing budgets, forecasts, expenditure and programme delivery.
  • Resolving legacy adoption issues and engineering queries.
  • Supporting pre-construction activities and providing technical input on future developments.
  • Promoting continuous improvement, innovation, health and safety, and best practice across all projects.

What We Are Looking For:

We're looking for a proactive and technically capable professional who can confidently manage multiple stakeholders and drive successful project outcomes.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • HNC or equivalent Level 4 qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction or Design.
  • Proven experience in an Adoptions Manager or similar role within a housebuilding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adoption delivery, sectional agreements and infrastructure project management.
  • Experience managing adoption bonds and achieving bond releases through sureties.
  • Sound understanding of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Desirable:

  • HND or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional membership such as ICE, CIAT, CIOB or MCIAT.
  • Experience working within the South West region.
  • Knowledge of statutory approvals, legal agreements and development delivery processes.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Coins.
