Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- To ensure the chickens are receiving feed and water ad lib.
- Be able to keep accurate and up-to-date records of important farm related information, such as feed stock, mortality and bird weights by inputting this data into Excel spreadsheets.
- To ensure the chickens are treated in a humane manner at all times.
- Be able to monitor and analyze environmental conditions of chicken houses using software.
- Supervisors must then be able to use this data to adjust environmental settings if necessary to maximize flock performance.
- To ensure that biosecurity rules are followed at all times.
- To ensure proper cleanout procedures are followed after slaughter.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science, preferably in Agricultural, Ecology or Management.
- Be able to work on bank holidays.
- Be able to work day and night shifts.
- Preferably have personal transport but we can work around this if the successful candidate can arrive to work on time using public transportation.
- Must be able to answer alarms, even if they occur after hours during the night/early morning.
