The Ocean Conservation Trust at the National Marine Aquarium islooking for an enthusiastic Head Chef to join our team.

There are two main aspects to the role, running our 7 day a week café and providing top quality catering for corporate, eveningand fine diningevents.

We are looking for someone with experience both in high-volume outlets as well as high-quality events and banqueting.

You will have at least2years’ experience as a Head Chef.

This is a hands-on Head Chef role and would suit an individual with a passion for sustainable produce.

The role is37.5hoursperweek, based around7.5 hour day shiftsand will include weekendsand bank holidays.

Hours will vary from7amandcould finish up to10pm.

Ad-hoc eveningshiftsare includedwhen functions or dining experiences are scheduled.

Due to the nature of our business all applicants should be fully flexible and available to work weekends, throughout the school holidays and bank holidays.

The salaryis£31,941per annum.

Thecateringteam play a vital role in delivering a great guest experience to all our visitors at the National Marine Aquarium.

They have a keen eye for detail and an organised approach.

Along with our front of housestaff, they are real ambassadors for the company and are committed to consistently delivering high standards.

You will be joining a passionate team of people who care about marine conservation and customer care in one of the South West’s top visitor attractions.

The successful candidate will be

  • Qualified Head Chef with proven experience
  • Hold a Level2in professional cookery or equivalent
  • Be an aspiring leader, able to share your passion by coaching and developing junior members of the team
  • Have control of all areas of stock management, ordering, menu planning, food safety and allergens.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about fresh, local, quality ingredients
  • Be anexcellent team playerthat isfriendlyand approachable
