Job Opportunity

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a committed and compassionate carer to join a care team supporting a deaf female adult in her 20s who lives at home with her fiancé in Taverham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in someone’s life by providing both high-quality clinical care and holistic support for her overall health and wellbeing. The role would be supporting over nights, with the nights being sleeps and can be offered for someone prepared to do multiple days in a row or separate if preferred.

She has complex care needs, including:

  • Spinal injury
  • Complex moving & handling
  • Support with communication (experience with BSL is a big positive!)

As a carer, you will support her not only with her medical needs but also with daily living activities, promoting independence and empowering her to live life to the fullest. She has a very sociable lifestyle and would like staff to support her in maintaining this. Confidence in driving her wheelchair-accessible vehicle is essential, as it is used for both social outings and medical appointments. Staff can expect to support her with a wide variety of activities, including attending music festivals, going to local football matches, swimming, and dog walking. When the weather doesn’t allow for time outdoors, she enjoys baking and takes pride in maintaining a clean and tidy home. The highlight of her year is an annual holiday abroad, which staff will support her with, and she would like staff to be prepared to accompany her on these trips. Her family play a key part in her life, and she especially enjoys spending time with her sister’s children, proudly taking on the role of a loving auntie when they come to visit. She hopes to start a family of her own in the future, and wedding plans are already well underway, which is very exciting!
