Lavender Lodge is a privately owned, purpose-built care home in central Derby. The home offers residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 44 residents, on both a permanent and short-stay respite basis. We are just a few minutes from the heart of the city, which makes the home easy for families to visit and helps our residents stay close to the community they have always known. The Healthcare Assistant provides high-quality personal care and support to residents in a safe, respectful and compassionate environment. The role involves helping residents with their daily activities, promoting independence and dignity, monitoring their wellbeing, and working closely with nurses, carers, families and other healthcare professionals. Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence support. * Monitor and report changes in residents' physical or emotional wellbeing. * Record care provided accurately and maintain appropriate documentation. * Support residents with medication in accordance with training and care-home procedures. * Provide companionship and emotional support. * Follow safeguarding, infection-control, health-and-safety and care-home policies. * Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary care team. * Communicate appropriately with residents, relatives, colleagues and healthcare professionals. * Attend training and maintain required knowledge and skills. * Report accidents, incidents, concerns or suspected abuse immediately through the correct procedures. Essential Skills and Qualities: * Respect for older people and people with disabilities or complex needs. * Willingness to undertake relevant training. * Ability to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays where required. Valid/updated DBS certificate preferred, where possible. Previous experience in a care home or healthcare setting is desirable. Willingness to complete required training and follow care-home policies.
