Service Overview

The service operates as a predominantly adult‑focused private outpatient service with a limited and clearly defined paediatric provision.

Scope of Role

The post holder will work under the supervision of registered nurses and clinicians, providing clinical and non‑clinical support to ensure the smooth running of outpatient services. The post holder must work within the limits of their competence, training, and delegated responsibilities and must elevate any concerns relating to patient safety, deterioration, competence, or scope immediately to the Clinical Lead or Registered Manager. The post holder must not undertake any clinical activity unless trained, assessed as competent, and authorised to do so.

Clinical Competencies

  • Clinical observations and recording of vital signs
  • Recognition and escalation of patient deterioration
  • Adult phlebotomy (where trained and authorised)
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Infection prevention and control procedures
  • Stock control and equipment checks
  • Basic wound care and dressing support in line with training and competency sign‑off
  • Assisting clinicians during minor procedures
  • Accurate documentation and record keeping
