We are seeking a Client Advisory Manager to support the Client Directors in the day‐to‐day management of LGPS clients within an investment pool. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a long‐term career in investment consulting and fiduciary management. This is a key role, based in Wolverhampton, supporting the development and delivery of our advisory and delegation services in line with the government's "Fit for the Future" agenda.
You will gain hands‐on experience supporting senior consultants and portfolio managers in delivering strategic investment advice and overseeing delegated portfolio solutions for large LGPS clients.
What you'll be doing
- Initial phase
- Support development of strategic advisory services by assisting senior team members in the design and documentation of new offerings tailored to Partner Funds' needs.
- Support in systems procurement, including gathering data to support the selection and implementation of tools such as risk modelling platforms and capital market assumption providers.
- Contribute to design of investment solutions, in particular regarding the asset class building blocks used in strategic asset allocation and fiduciary model portfolios.
- Help manage Partner Fund advisory relationships by coordinating meetings, preparing briefing materials, and recording actions and decisions.
- Support Partner Fund transition plans by tracking milestones, compiling updates from internal teams and Partner Funds, and preparing internal status reports to ensure alignment with government implementation deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain internal documentation, such as meeting minutes, project tracking tools, and internal presentations, ensuring information is kept accurate and up to date.

- Provide day‐to‐day support in managing LGPSC advisory client relationships.
- Assist in preparing regular investment reports and performance reviews.
- Support the Client Director in responding to client queries and requests.
- Help coordinate meetings, agendas, and follow‐ups with clients, including attendance at Partner Fund investment related meetings, including Pension Committee meetings.
- Contribute to the development of tailored investment solutions and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of services.
- Liaise with external consultants and third‐party oversight providers.
- Work internally with strategy and asset allocation teams to ensure advice and advisory services are appropriate for Partner Funds.

LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by its Partner Funds, and it is responsible for managing £100bn+ of their assets. Requirements
- Institutional Investment Experience: Experience in investment consulting or relationship management within pension funds, asset managers, or similar, with solid experience in both public and private markets and an understanding of the LGPS preferred.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in building collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including clients, Pension Committees, actuaries, investment advisors, senior management, and service providers.
- Investment Strategy Delivery: Hands‐on experience supporting in the delivery of a full suite of institutional investment services - from setting strategy and implementation to investment reporting and oversight.
- Governance & Regulation Expertise: Understanding of investment governance frameworks, asset owner reporting, and UK pension regulations, ideally including LGPS specific elements.
- Analytical & Technical Proficiency: Experience in asset liability modelling, reporting at both strategic and asset class level.
- Collaborative & Organised Approach: Able to work cross‐functionally in dynamic environments, managing multiple priorities and proactively planning and executing projects.
- Ethics & ESG Integration: Strong commitment to ethical standards with knowledge of ESG principles and their practical application in investment decision making.
