You will work as part of our multi-disciplinary project team to bring water and wastewater projects from initial design, through to completion and handover to the client. You will have the opportunity to work alongside, and collaborate with, industry-leading project teams, working in a one-team culture while broadening your own skill set. As an EICA Project Engineer you will be expected to support the Design Manager and Project Manager in the daily operations and delivery of the EICA scope of projects. You will primarily be involved in all aspects of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) taking a project through the design, installation, commissioning and handover phases. The role will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing engineering functionality to support the project. This will entail producing packages of work for development by internal or external design teams, internal or external installation and commissioning teams. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative design solutions, collaborate with global teams, and develop expertise in electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation engineering for the water and wastewater sector.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a "one team" culture.
- Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
- Be familiar with the HSQE management system and procedures in conjunction with the current statutory requirements.
- Work on assigned projects to manage the delivery of the EICA scope including design, procurement, installation supervision, commissioning and handover.
- Develop the project outline scope into relevant packages to be developed into the required outline or detailed design, construction and commissioning phases.
- Prepare or review procurement of packages such as MCC/control panels, automation hardware/software, starters, electrical installation works, LV/HV works and lightning protection or as the EICA scope requires.
- Communicate technical solutions to clients and colleagues, and actively participate in design discussions, technical workshops, and safety reviews.
- Conduct periodic site visits to check on installation quality, ensure works are completed to the required Electrical standards and Glanua requirements.
- Monitor progress through design or onsite to ensure delivery in line with works programme, adjust workflow and rate as necessary to achieve or better completion date.
- Need to be familiar with programme and budgets for the project, fully understanding the impact any overruns shall have on the project.
- Ensure project is delivered in-line with quality procedures and that all Factory Acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), inspection and test records (ITRs), and commissioning of the works are completed in-line with the quality plan and Employer's Requirements.
- Ensure submission of project handover files including As Built Drawings and control panel drawings schematics post commissioning incorporating any changes made during the installation phase.
- Ensuring design, materials and workmanship is in line with the specified requirements.
- Liaise with relevant consultants, subcontractors, site staff, commercial resources and the general site team involved in the project.
- Day-to-day interaction with the employer's representatives, stakeholders and wider project team.
- Keep appraised of the latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).
- Show an eagerness to learn and progress in your own career as well as the mentoring and training of more junior staff.
- Other duties as required from time to time.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role, ideally working within regulated utility sector.
- A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical / ICA Engineering, with Incorporated Engineer status or working towards Chartered status with the IET or an equivalent professional body.
- Desirable to have an understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, pumping systems, MCCs, ICA systems, and power distribution.
- Working knowledge of UK Water Industry standards (WIMES, BS EN, etc.).
- An understanding of CDM, ATEX, and DSEAR regulations and how they apply to EICA design and installation.
- Knowledge of BIM processes, 3D modelling, and digital design tools.
- An interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.
- Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
- Ability to engage with suppliers and sub-contractors at procurement stage and in the delivery of their scope of supply during contract delivery.
- Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise during project delivery.
- Good working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge of cable sizing software is desirable.
- Strong communication skills with a high level of motivation.
- Full driving licence.
