We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide practical and operational support for environmental consultancy projects on commercial, industrial, municipal wastewater and sludge processing projects. You will be contributing to a variety of consultancy project types that will primarily include flow and load survey, tracer studies, process commissioning, process optimisation, RCA and troubleshooting.
The role will be primarily field based, but will also include some lab and office based work. Initially the role will require collection and analysis of samples and interpretation of results. Through training and experience on the job, there will be opportunities to progress into an operational, engineering and/or technical role.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate would be someone who has an interest in providing practical solutions to environmental improvement and enjoys working outdoors. This role is well suited to someone who is keen to gain practical experience of operating ETP's and working within a diverse team on environmental consultancy projects. The candidate must be willing to travel to a range of sites throughout the UK and some projects will involve working away for short periods of time (typically 1-2 weeks).
Whilst the role is likely to be mostly field/lab based, opportunity will be provided to develop operational and technical knowledge and skills through desk‑based learning, mentoring and on‑the‑job training. A tailored professional development plan will be developed, with routine reviews to track progress and set targets.
Essential skills and experience
- Practical experience of working on industrial sites/water utility sites
- Awareness of H&S requirements for working on sites (RAMS, permits, inductions)
- Field experience involving sample collection
- Good communicator, coordinating with various teams and to your line manager
- Willing to work outdoors and collect and analyse wastewater samples
- Full UK driver's license essential
